Flutist Angela Kelly is an international prizewinner, accomplished soloist, and orchestral player with an extensive list of credits. She was a Bach Aria Fellow and has performed in solo recitals, as well as with orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout the country. Her recordings include “Conversations: The Music of Gary Schocker” on the Azica label, and “The Holly and the Ivy”, a collaboration with world-renowned Chapman Stick player Greg Howard. She has served on the performance faculty of The University of Virginia and Mary Baldwin College, and has been a performer and clinician at numerous national and international conferences including the National Flute Association and the World Harp Congress. Kelly is an award-winning educator and founder of CreativeMusicRoom.com, the newest resource for music educators. She is proud to bring body mapping to students of all ages though CMR and throughout her daily teachings. In addition, she has taught the full course at several universities across Virginia and beyond. Ms. Kelly also maintains a full private studio, teaching award-winning students year after year. Finally, she is the director of music at Charlottesville Day School.
Performance from 2020. Greg Howard was a master and pioneer of the Chapman stick. We lost Greg in 2023, and I cherish the memories I have with my dear friend. I am delighted to share one with you here.
